General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is offering an eight-week summer internship (Summer 2027). You will apply Lean Six Sigma methods to real submarine manufacturing challenges, working with Continuous Improvement staff and shipbuilders to gain hands-on experience in problem solving and manufacturing excellence.

Qualificações

• Must be 18+ years old
• US citizenship required
• Pass drug screen and background check
• Full-time college/university enrollment
• Have completed Freshman year prior to start
• Available 40 hours/week for 8 consecutive weeks (May 2027–Sept 2027)
• Pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Business, Analytics, Organizational Leadership, or Engineering disciplines
• Lean/Six Sigma exposure or interest is preferred
• Experience in team leadership or collaborative problem solving is preferred
• Project management experience is preferred

Responsabilidades

• Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods to submarine manufacturing challenges
• Collaborate with Continuous Improvement staff, shipbuilders, and cross-functional teams
• Assist in investigating processes, gathering data, and facilitating team discussions
• Support efforts to reduce lead times, improve quality, and lower costs
• Learn to coordinate across diverse trades and activities on Groton production
