Job summary

Wausau Coated Products, Inc. is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team at the Wausau, WI location.

The role leads customer-focused process and product improvement initiatives with project management and problem-solving expertise to drive measurable results in cost reduction, lead-time improvement, inventory optimization, and quality enhancement. The engineer will develop process improvements, manage changes for product development, and create SOPs while leading safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate interdepartmentally.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean project leadership.
• Highly proficient extracting and analyzing data.

Responsibilities

• Develops improvements of processes and methods that enhance production efficiency, manufacturing personnel support, and product quality.
• Manages process changes in support of product development.
• Develops written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key manufacturing processes.
• Leads safety activities and improvements and takes initiative to seek out other process opportunities.
• Utilizes statistical methods to perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency.
• Capable of leading capital projects of intermediate complexity and require interdepartmental collaboration.
