Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a manufacturing support professional in Nampa, Idaho. You will provide technical help, guide production specifications, and help improve yield and efficiency across equipment and processes.

The role involves documenting procedures, procuring assembly tools, and training operators while upholding SEL values and world-class manufacturing standards. Travel and safety checks are expected as part of the duties.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows-based tools (Excel, Word, SQL).
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check satisfactory to SEL; negative drug tests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.

  • Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures.

  • Manage the procurement of assembly process tools.

  • Train operators and support staff as needed.

  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Understand. Create. Simplify.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications


  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience

  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role

  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL

  • Negative drug test result(s)


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems

  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments

  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery

  • Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis

  • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics

Location – Nampa, ID

Travel

Must be willing and able to travel extensively during the first 6–12 months of employment while the facility is under development. Travel will primarily be to SEL manufacturing facilities in Pullman, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho for training, process familiarization, and relationship building. Travel is expected to occur in multiweek increments and may total approximately 8–12 weeks or more based on business needs and facility startup activities.


Pay Range Data

$34.81-$51.39 Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
