Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Nampa, ID is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance of basic equipment, troubleshoot issues, and update the maintenance database.

You will work under supervision and contribute to process improvements while upholding SEL values and manufacturing principles. Qualified candidates hold an associate degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience, with knowledge of analog/digital electronics and modern test equipment,

  • Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic technology and theory.
  • Experience maintaining and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of modern test equipment used to diagnose equipment failures.
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently perform preventive maintenance of basic complexity on manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of issues found during preventive maintenance and reactive calls.

Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment, including analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits as well as vision and robotics systems.
  • Basic knowledge of programming automated production equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of printed circuit board assembly, mechanical assembly, and cable assembly processes
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and maneuver 40 pounds

  • Reach, Bend, Grip, Twist
  • Sit and/or stand at least 8 hours
  • Fine finger dexterity

Travel

Must be willing and able to travel extensively during the first 6-12 months of employment while the facility is under development. Travel will primarily be to SEL manufacturing facilities in Pullman, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho for training, process familiarization, and relationship building. Travel is expected to occur in multiweek increments and may total approximately 8-12 weeks or more based on business needs and facility startup activities.

Pay Range Data - $34.81-$51.39

Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
