Position Overview: The Manager of Process Engineering is responsible for initiating manufacturing process ideas, concepts, and procedures to ensure conformity to customer specifications and production capabilities. The role involves developing process technology to improve existing capabilities, considering cost, efficiency, schedules, and raw material availability. Additionally, the position includes duties related to the Company's Irradiation Machines, such as suggesting, coordinating, and implementing capital improvements aligned with company plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop manufacturing technology and improve processes for wire and cable production, including technical data analysis, problem resolution, process evaluation, and cost reduction.
  2. Initiate ideas and suggestions within assigned projects, control manufacturing processes for efficiency, and diagnose manufacturing problems related to machinery, materials, and processes.
  3. Contribute to scrap reduction efforts, develop methods to minimize raw material usage, and salvage scrap efficiently.
  4. Participate in cost reduction studies, equipment utilization, quality audits, training, and troubleshooting. Maintain contact with vendors to stay updated on new manufacturing methods.
  5. Support operational improvement programs focusing on quality, efficiency, process cost reduction, and material control.
  6. Oversee all activities related to Irradiation Machines, including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and documentation updates.
  7. Coordinate external maintenance contractors and manage spare parts inventories and test equipment.
  8. Train production personnel on machine operation, develop training materials, and maintain product processing documentation.
  9. Perform duties as the Irradiation Safety Officer for the department.
Qualifications:
  • Equivalent of ten years' technical experience in manufacturing engineering, production, or related activity in a wire and cable manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong technical and management aptitude with leadership potential.
  • Organized problem-solving approach.
  • Four-year Engineering or Manufacturing Technology degree, or a two-year Associate degree with relevant experience. Equivalent work experience in the industry may be considered.
