POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers to improve and optimize manufacturing and production processes. This role ensures processes are efficient, cost-effective, sustainable, and aligned with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and innovation across operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of process engineers to achieve department and organizational goals.
- Design, implement, and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, developing root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop process documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and work instructions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, maintenance, quality, R&D) to support product development, scale-up, and commercialization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and equipment to enhance process performance.
- Monitor process KPIs (yield, cycle time, downtime, waste, etc.) and report metrics to senior leadership.
- Ensure all processes comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal quality policies.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for process engineering projects.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of process optimization, statistical analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and engineering tools (AutoCAD)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies (certification preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred but not necessary).
- 7+ years of experience in process engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in Wire and Cable Manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of process optimization, statistical analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and engineering tools (AutoCAD, Aspen HYSYS, Minitab, etc.).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies (certification preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
