Job summary

James Hardie is offering a 12-week paid internship in a fiber-cement manufacturing environment, designed to provide real-world engineering exposure. You will work on finishing‑line operations, monitor equipment, perform quality checks, and analyze production data to support process improvements.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, available for summer 2027, and authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to finishing operations in a fiber-cement manufacturing environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify inefficiencies.
• Assist with quality checks on surface finish, dimensions and product defects.
• Collect and analyze production data to support process improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with technicians and engineers.
• Support lean and 5S activities to improve workflow and reduce waste.
• Update documentation and SOPs related to finishing processes and safety practices.
