Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a summer intern to gain hands-on engineering exposure in manufacturing. The 12-week paid program targets students pursuing Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering and offers real projects that drive cost savings and process improvements.

You will work with operators and technical partners, contribute to training documentation, pretreatment processes, and warehouse time studies, and receive mentorship, project feedback, and opportunities to advance your career with

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline with anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029.
Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Training Documentation: Review and update manuals/SOPs with SMEs; target completion for raw materials, rollerhand, and stackerhand activities.
Process-Water Pretreatment: Evaluate pretreatment needs for existing RO system; develop equipment spec, cost estimate, and installation scope.
Warehouse Organization and Time Study: Study warehouse layout, material movement, and storage; identify time-saving opportunities and prepare a detailed report.
