Job summary

James Hardie internship offers hands-on process engineering and Lean manufacturing experience during a 12-week summer program in 2027. You will review plant operations, map current processes, and drive kaizen events to deliver measurable optimizations in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Eligible students must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant discipline with anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising senior/junior).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Process Review and Analysis: Review manufacturing processes and create current-state value stream maps to identify bottlenecks and waste.
• Kaizen Planning and Execution: Plan focused kaizen events, define success metrics, and track action items to completion.
• Measurement and Reporting: Measure improvements using safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics and report results to operational leadership.
