Job summary

James Hardie Building Products is seeking a Project Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer program in a manufacturing setting. The intern will support capital projects, maintenance, and process improvements, using AutoCAD and data analysis to drive concrete improvements on the plant floor.

You will collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership, gain hands-on experience, and build professional skills through mentoring and structured development resources.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029
• GPA of at least 3.0; strong academic performance
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027

Responsibilities

• Support capital & continuous-improvement projects from scoping to execution
• Assist with commissioning, startups, trials, and data collection
• Document design reviews, vendor meetings, and project standups
• Create and update SOPs, checklists, and technical reports
• Maintain organized project files and trackers
• Communicate progress to engineering, maintenance, and leadership
