Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Process Engineer for the Starshield program in Hawthorne, CA. You will identify failures, drive corrective actions, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to improve reliability of Starshield hardware.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 1+ years in process or reliability engineering; a master’s and 3+ years in electro-mechanical hardware are preferred. Clearance eligibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of process engineering, manufacturing, or reliability engineering experience (internships/co-ops acceptable).
• Master’s degree and 3+ years of electro-mechanical hardware experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for production non-conforming hardware.
• Act as owner for containment and drive progress on quarantine and rework activities.
• Drive corrective actions to meet design specs using data on yield and defects to identify common failure modes.
• Collaborate with Integration & Test engineers to improve manufacturing processes and test coverage.
• Maximize ROI for test/inspection processes with lean controls and objective criteria.
• Document failure analyses, test results, and corrective actions thoroughly.
