Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer, Electrical for Starshield in Hawthorne, CA.

You will analyze, diagnose, and improve reliability of PCBAs, partnering with electrical, mechanical, software, and supply chain teams to advance cutting-edge R&D on government-focused Starshield hardware. The role emphasizes driving root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and mentoring junior engineers while operating within stringent space/defense standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering.
• 2+ years of experience with electrical test equipment used to verify hardware functionality.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, root cause, failure investigations, and corrective actions for Starshield hardware.
• Use schematics, tests, and inspection to identify failure physics.
• Drive containment and root cause progress, update teams on recovery actions.
• Lead data-driven actions to improve yield and identify failure modes.
• Collaborate with test engineers to improve test assets and coverage.
• Maintain documentation of failure analyses and corrections.
