Job summary

Stantec’s process engineering group in Minneapolis/Plymouth, MN is seeking a Process Engineer to contribute to design through the project lifecycle—from definition to commissioning. You will design PMU systems as an individual contributor and may oversee a project team.

Expect to develop budgets and schedules while collaborating with clients and other disciplines. You will mentor junior engineers, demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills, and travel regionally as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant design experience, preferably within the design services industry.
• Experience developing PMU system documents including design memorandums, mass & energy balance, flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Knowledge of design codes, standards, and best practices applicable to PMU systems including NFPA and ASME.
• Experience with front-end loading (FEL) or similar stage gate engineering approaches.
• Oilseed processing, food plants, or RNG experience is a plus.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills with clients and project teams; customer service oriented.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of technical proposals.
• Design PMU systems as an individual contributor and possibly with oversight of a project team.
• Develop and maintain hourly budgets for PMU related project work.
• Contribute to development and updating of schedule for PMU related project work.
• Collaborate with clients and team members across disciplines and project management to execute projects.
• Ensure quality assurance of PMU work and project procedures.
• Mentor more junior team members to impart engineering knowledge.
