Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Process Engineer to design process and PMU systems and support project teams in the Minneapolis/Plymouth area. You will contribute to technical proposals, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver high‑quality designs.

The role emphasizes independent and team-based work, strong communication, and mentoring junior engineers. A strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering is required.Regional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant design experience in design services/industrial environments.
• Experience developing PMU-related technical documents (MEMOs, mass & energy balances, P&IDs, equipment specs).
• Knowledge of design codes and standards (NFPA, ASME).
• Experience with FEL or stage-gate engineering.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work both independently and in a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of technical proposals.
• Design process and PMU systems as individual contributor and possibly with a project team.
• Develop and maintain hourly budgets for PMU work.
• Develop and update schedules for PMU related work.
• Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to execute projects.
• Ensure QA of PMU work and project procedures.
• Mentor junior team members.
