Job summary

SolvChem, Inc. is seeking a proactive Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement across high-volume manufacturing. You will analyze data, apply Lean and Six Sigma, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment, workflows, and line effectiveness.

The role includes designing tooling and automation, leading standard work, and ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual English/Spanish and chemical packaging experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience as a process engineer in a high-volume assembly/manufacturing environment.
• Small pack experience in the chemical industry.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certifications are highly preferred.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or process optimization methods.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, routings, or process documentation.
• Experience with ERP, MES, or related manufacturing systems.
• Experience with automation, robotics, sensors, and PLC systems preferred.
• Experience with data analysis software like Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Analyze assembly line workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce cycle times.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma to minimize waste.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work and line balancing.
• Design, evaluate, and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate robotics, sensors, and PLC systems.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
• Identify root causes using FMEA and 6M problem-solving.
• Collect and analyze production data for RCA and improvement recommendations.
• Create and track KPIs including OEE and scrap rates.
• Work with QA to ensure regulatory and internal standards.
• Create and maintain SOPs, routings, and rework instructions.
• Train operators on new processes, tooling, and safety.
