Job summary

PPG seeks a Process Engineer to join its chemical manufacturing team. You will design, implement, optimize, and maintain production processes to improve safety, quality, and cost efficiency across the facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, support MOC/PHAs, and collaborate with R&D, quality, EHS, maintenance, and supply chain to scale new products and resolve process deviations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on process engineering in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience in manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with P&ID development/review; ERP/MES experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process Design & Optimization – develop and improve chemical production processes to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Data Analysis – collect and analyze process data to identify trends and root causes.
  • Production Support – provide technical support to minimize downtime and ensure quality.
  • Documentation – create SOPs, P&IDs, PFDs and facility diagrams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – work with R&D, quality, EHS, maintenance, and supply chain.
  • Safety & Compliance – ensure OSHA/EPA compliance and promote safety culture.
  • MOC/PHAs – participate in Process Hazard Analyses and manage changes.
  • Continuous Improvement – lead Lean Six Sigma projects to drive excellence.
  • Troubleshooting – resolve deviations, non-conformances, and yield issues.
