Job summary

CyberCoders in Asheville, NC is seeking a Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. You will analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and apply Lean and Six Sigma to boost throughput and quality.

You will develop standard work, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, and control plans, and collaborate with production, quality, maintenance and supply chain to upgrade equipment and balance lines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering role (high-volume experience preferred).
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong data analysis and proficiency with Excel, Minitab, SPC.

Responsibilities

Process Engineer
Position Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. The role focuses on analyzing current processes, identifying and implementing efficiency and quality improvements, reducing waste, and ensuring safe, cost-effective production. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, develop standard work and controls, and deliver measurable improvements in throughput, yield, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and quality issues.
  • Lead process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement tools to reduce waste, cycle time and cost.
  • Design and implement process changes, standard work, SOPs, control plans and work instructions to ensure consistent, repeatable production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC) and drive corrective and preventive actions to resolve recurring issues.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including PFMEA, process flow charts, and validation plans.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain and engineering to implement equipment upgrades, line balancing and capacity improvements.
  • Train and coach production teams and operators on new processes, tools and best practices to sustain improvements.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, scrap, OEE and process capability.
  • Support new product introductions by providing process design input, capability assessments and pilot runs.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing or process engineering role (experience in high‑volume production preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, statistical process control).
  • Familiarity with process documentation (PFMEA, control plans, SOPs) and quality systems!
  • Excellent communication, project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business results and sustaining improvements.
