Job summary

FrieslandCampina Ingredients North America Inc. seeks a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes in our NY area protein hydrolysates facility.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvements and manage capital projects that raise plant performance and reliability. You will lead trials, improve yields, and implement Lean Six Sigma driven improvements, while ensuring GMP compliance and strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Manufacturing, or related field.
• 2+ years of Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of unit operations such as filtration, evaporation, reactions, heat exchange, and drying.
• Understanding of GMP and food safety requirements.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes with production teams.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate process trials for troubleshooting and product development.
• Identify opportunities to improve yield, efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction.
• Support safety, environmental, quality, and change-management initiatives.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and update Process Documentation (PFDs and P&IDs).
• Lead capital projects from concept through startup, including equipment selection and budgeting.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project quality and execution.
