Job summary

ofi is a global leader in food & beverage ingredients seeking an Engineering/Project-focused professional in New Jersey. You will study machines and utility designs, collaborate with operations, and lead CAPEX projects with stakeholders.

This role emphasizes regulatory compliance, sustainability, data-driven decisions, and energy optimization across multiple facilities. You will build training, maintain documentation, and support asset upkeep while traveling to alternate plants as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; five years of equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience in food processing, agriculture, chemical or pharmaceutical preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory environments is required.
• Good understanding of sustainability initiatives in the food business.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
• Leadership and teamwork across geographies; effective communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in MS Office; intermediate Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel to other facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Study current machines, utility designs, and layout for improvements.
• Collaborate with operations to implement continuous improvement projects.
• Develop project objectives with stakeholders and review proposals.
• Determine project specifications from design, requirements and standards.
• Review contractor quotes and prepare cost estimates and CAPEX proposals.
• Develop schedules and monitor project progress and performance.
• Participate in customer/contractor meetings and resolve issues.
• Prepare status reports and analyze data trends to suggest actions.
• Monitor costs and maintain data; identify risks and areas for improvement.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and KPI tracking.
• Provide training and technical coordination support to the team.
• Develop documentation and energy optimization measures.
• Support maintenance and upkeep of existing assets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
