Job summary

Loos & Co, the sole fully integrated maker of premium wire, rope, and assemblies, seeks a Process Engineer to strengthen manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement. You will develop and improve processes, work with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance, and apply lean methods to reduce waste and increase throughput.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering in a fast-growing aerospace/defense supplier, with a focus on reliability and sustained performance across production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of process/manufacturing/production engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience supporting machining or equipment-intensive processes strongly preferred.
• CNC machining experience including setup, tooling, and cycle-time optimization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, document, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, equipment, and work instructions.
• Maintain an active presence on the production floor to understand conditions and support staff.
• Analyze production performance (cycle time, scrap, downtime, throughput) to identify improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize machine settings, tooling, and process parameters to improve productivity and quality.
• Support CNC and machining operations, including capability evaluation and setups.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Develop and maintain standard work, process specs, and control plans.
• Assist with new product introduction and transition to normal operations.
