Job summary

Loos & Co., Inc. seeks a Plant Manager to lead Pomfret Center operations: wire, rope, extrusion, coating, machining, and assembly; ensure safety, quality, cost, delivery.

You will direct leaders, drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, partner with Engineering and Supply Chain, and uphold AS9100 and ISO 9001.

This role requires strong manufacturing leadership in a precision aerospace-focused environment with regulatory compliance and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum ten years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience leading managers and teams in a plant environment.
• Experience with metals processing, wire drawing, extrusion, coating, or machining.
• Strong use of production data and KPIs to drive improvement.
• Knowledge of root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for Pomfret Center production and maintenance operations.
• Coach and develop leaders; manage performance and succession planning.
• Develop integrated production plans aligning labor, materials, and equipment with customer specs.
• Monitor performance with daily management systems and KPIs.
• Maintain safe work environment and enforce safety requirements.
• Ensure conformance to customer specs, Mil-Spec, and quality-system requirements.
• Champion quality culture and continuous improvement.
• Support AS9100 and ISO 9001 readiness and audits.
• Lead problem solving with data-driven approaches.
• Remove production constraints and improve flow and yield.
• Oversee maintenance for uptime, spares, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering on upgrades and capital projects.
• Own budgets and controllable spending; forecast and plan.
