Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Painted Post, NY seeks an Engineer, Process to reduce defects and improve manufacturing performance. You will apply DMAIC, statistical tools, and Six Sigma methods to improve cost, quality, uptime, yields, cycle time, and safety across Corning facilities worldwide.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 0–5 years of experience, strong problem solving, data-driven decision making, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical, materials, ceramic, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
• 0–5 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Data-driven decision making and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work full time with domestic travel and some international travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new processes or improve existing processes at Corning facilities worldwide.
• Solve problems using KT, DOE, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma.
• Implement Process Control and Process Discipline systems in manufacturing.
• Analyze process data using statistical tools (pareto, regression, ANOVA, gauge R&R).
• Measure and communicate performance against objectives.
• Review data to make immediate and long-term corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers to improve performance and evaluate materials or processes.
• Document SOP/SOS, experiment plans, and process changes.
• Train operators and peers on defined processes.
