Job summary

Corning Inc. seeks a manufacturing engineer to apply engineering principles to solve production problems, enhance capabilities, and independently drive projects from conception through implementation.

You will analyze process data, justify equipment purchases, and collaborate across teams to ensure repeatable, cost-effective production while supporting new technologies and transfers to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Creative/problem solving with strong technical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to production operations.
• Analyze data to understand process capability and monitor trends for manufacturing excellence.
• Identify process improvements and cost-reduction projects using data analysis.
• Prepare cost justifications and capital requests for new equipment purchases.
• Interface with operators and team leaders to implement process, equipment, or safety improvements.
• Lead transfer of new cabling technology, materials, or processes from development to production.
