Job summary

Corning Inc. is hiring a Process Engineer based in Corning, NY. This onsite role includes relocation assistance and travel about 50% or more, primarily within the U.S., with some international travel, to work across multiple manufacturing sites.

You will apply engineering principles, lead process improvements, and mentor operators. A BS in chemical, materials, ceramic or mechanical engineering is required, with 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience; MS or PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in chemical, materials, ceramic or mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in engineering/manufacturing with a track record of solving process problems.
• Demonstrated use of scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems with well-designed experiments.
• Ability to determine best solution from alternatives within production guidelines.
• Strong data analysis and statistics; proficient with Excel, Minitab, or equivalents.
• Basic process capability/run charting and trend charting experience.
• Deep knowledge of Process excellence.
• Experience completing projects with clear leadership and documentation and ability to collaborate across boundaries.
• Willingness to travel ~50% domestically with variable rates by project

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and development of new processes or improvements at Corning facilities worldwide.
• Lead teams towards solving problems and improving processes using fundamental understanding and structured methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
• Implement Process Control and Process Discipline systems; analyze data with statistical tools.
• Measure and communicate performance against objectives; document processes and mentor operators.
