Job summary

3M Cumberland, WI is seeking a Process Engineer to drive improvements in safety, quality, service and cost. You will participate in daily operations, lead continuous improvement projects, and apply statistical tools to reduce defects and variation.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, plus hands-on experience with Lean Six Sigma, DOE and SPC. Domestic travel up to 10% and relocation assistance may be available; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or science completed before start.
• Additional degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Two years of process engineering experience in private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and project management.
• Lean Six Sigma, DOE and statistical analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost in assigned areas.
• Actively participate in day-to-day operations, including daily tier process, EHS activities, MOC process change management, OEE analysis, and gap resolution.
• Initiate and lead Continuous Improvement projects across the Value Stream with objective timelines and next steps.
• Understand and use statistical analysis and DOE to improve process and troubleshoot defects.
• Manage strategic source of supply projects and supplier relationships.
• Drive capital investment, new product introduction, and new technologies to increase manufacturing capability.
• Provide daily engineering support for assigned areas, including occasional night/weekend availability.
