Job Summary

This role will focus on training industrial machine operators in the setup and operation of plastic injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, process optimization, and technical training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operator Training & Development:

  • Develop and deliver hands-on training programs for machine operators, ensuring proper setup, operation, and maintenance of injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming machines.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for machine operation and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:

  • Work with production teams to improve machine efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
  • Assist in diagnosing machine and process issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate training records and evaluate operator performance.
  • Provide feedback to production managers on operator competency and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by documenting process changes and best practices.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work closely with engineering, quality control, and maintenance teams to improve production processes.
  • Participate in new machine installations, trials, and validation processes.
  • Support quality assurance efforts to ensure compliance with product specifications.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machine schematics, and process documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and working with machine operators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work on the production floor and engage in hands-on training.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical knowledge of plastics processing techniques (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming) is preferred but not required.
