Job summary

The Partners Alliance is seeking a Performance Engineer to regularly review data, including SPC charts, for trends and out-of-control signals and communicate these findings to fellow engineers. You will determine root causes, document data reviews, and use statistical discovery tools to support trend analysis and improvement plans at Quality Review meetings.

Familiarity with FMEAs and Control Plans, collaboration with operations foreman, debottlenecking initiatives, and understanding product

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in continuous and batch process manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to analyze chemical and/or material production processes and data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement CI plans.
• Proven experience troubleshooting chemical and mechanical issues in a heavy manufacturing environment and execute corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review statistical data, including SPC charts, for trends and out-of-control events and communicate findings to Performance Engineers in related areas.
• Determine root causes and work toward controlling those behaviors.
• Document and maintain data reviews for audits and quality system requirements.
• Utilize statistical discovery tools to extract data for trend analysis.
• Develop and present data, recommendations, and improvement plans at Quality Review meetings.
• Familiarity with FMEAs and Control Plans; work with the operations foreman to implement changes to improve control in focus areas.
• Work on debottlenecking projects and improving throughput.
• Be familiar with quality control lab analysis and product specifications.
• Understand product parameters and how changes in the manufacturing process affect them.

Job description

• Regularly review statistical data, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, in the assigned area. This review includes analysis of the data for trends and reoccurring events or anything leading to out-of-control situations and communication of these situations to the other Performance Engineers when those out-of-control situations may affect their operating areas as well.
• Determine the root cause of out-of-control situations and work toward controlling those behaviors.
• Document and maintain data reviews for future reference, including verification for quality system audits.
• Utilize statistical discovery tools to extract data necessary for trend analysis.
• Develop and present data, recommendations, and improvement plans at Quality Review meetings
• Stay familiar with FMEAs and Control Plans (aka Process Information Sheets) in the assigned areas and work with the operations foreman in initiating changes where necessary to improve control of a focus area.
• Work on projects related to debottlenecking and improving throughput.
• Be familiar with quality control lab analysis and product specifications.
• Understand product parameters and how they are affected by changes in the manufacturing process.

Requirements;

• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 years of experience in continuous and batch process manufacturing environment
• Proven experience and demonstrated success in analyzing chemical and/or material production processes and data, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing and executing related continuous improvement plans
• Proven experience and demonstrated success in troubleshooting chemical and mechanical issues in a heavy manufacturing environment, and developing and executing corrective action plans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with chemical process data acquisition, trending, and analysis is preferred.
• Experience with relational databases such as SAP is preferred.
• Experience with DCS Systems is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others - at all levels of the organization - are essential.
