Job summary

VAA is an Engineering, Planning and Design firm providing design for commercial projects, bulk handling facilities, and structures for manufacturing and distribution. The team collaborates across origination, processing and manufacturing sectors to deliver value and growth.

This role offers a path from drafting to leadership as expertise increases. The Technician/Designer role supports designers and engineers to produce quality drawings and develops technical skills through varied project work

Qualifications

Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher.
OR at least 1 year of directly related experience drafting control systems, documentation, such as PLC I/O lists, wiring diagrams, terminal layouts, schematics, and panel layouts.
Basic knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)

Responsibilities

Produce quality drawings for a variety of project types from concept phase through construction documents.
Set up plans, sections and details to specified drafting standards.
Identify redlines on drawings created by others and accurately make required changes.
Utilize software with increasing efficiency and depth of understanding.
Undertake increasingly complex design tasks and responsibilities with a commitment to continuous learning and technical development.
