Stanley Black & Decker in Shelbyville, KY is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to provide daily engineering support for manufacturing operations. You’ll lead automation projects, programming PLCs/robots, and install new equipment while collaborating with suppliers and R&D. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software, Controls or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Automation and controls experience (robots, vision systems, packaging).
• Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, TPS, Lean Manufacturing Methods
• Familiar with Quality Management Systems, ISO9001.2015 or similar
• Willing to travel occasionally (<10%)
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Experience with robotics (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
• Familiarity with industrial networks

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve manufacturing process problems
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects
• Lead new product launches and CAPEX investments
• Lead new equipment Installations and existing equipment modifications
• Design new equipment, processes and procedures
• Liaison with suppliers, customers, and R&D staff
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, robots, and control systems
• Update schematics for plant and facility equipment
• Support development of other engineers and maintenance team on robotics training
• Serve as primary reviewer for incoming CAPEX automation projects
• Identify opportunities for automation improvements to meet plant efficiency and productivity goals
• Execute other duties as assigned
