Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker seeks an onsite Manufacturing Engineer in Sedalia, MO to optimize operations, automate lines, and program PLCs. You’ll design equipment, test automation, and support new product launches with R&D, quality, and maintenance teams.

A strong lean manufacturing background and CAD/PLC skills are essential. You’ll contribute to safety, quality, and cost improvements while collaborating across functions in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software, or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, and data analysis tools.
• Programming in Python or C++, and familiarity with SCADA.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing: Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing operations to identify efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
• Design, test, and implement automated machinery, robotics, and software.
• Design and install new production equipment and lines.
• Program and maintain PLCs for industrial processes.
• Create and update work instructions, SOPs, and technical docs.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality, and maintenance to support launches.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
