Job summary

Sika Corporation is seeking a Controls Engineer to support automated processes at our Marion Operations in Kentucky. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based controls, HMIs, robotics, and vision systems to improve throughput and reduce bottlenecks.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing automation, experience with Allen‑Bradley/Siemens platforms, and strong teamwork with cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering; 3–5 years in manufacturing automation.
• Experience with automation, PLCs, and packaging equipment.
• Proficient in reading electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Strong English communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems, HMIs, robotics, industrial networks, instrumentation, and machine vision systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo systems, safety PLCs, distributed I/O, and industrial networks.
• Mentor others; collaborate cross-functionally with operators, R&D, QA and management.
• Manage projects from start to finish including CARs, budgets, timelines, and status reporting.
• Review layouts and implement changes to optimize performance and throughput.
