Job summary

The French’s Food Company, a McCormick subsidiary, seeks a full-time Controls Engineer in the Springfield, MO plant to support process and packaging equipment through PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and robotics. You will lead electrical activities, collaborate with IT and Operations, and drive project execution and documentation.

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, the role emphasizes troubleshooting, capital project management, and continuous improvement to ensure safety, reliability and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Relevant production/engineering experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of industrial controls equipment and communication protocols.
• Experience writing accurate technical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Up to 25% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage capital projects for process and packaging equipment (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives).
• Lead electrical activities and provide technical leadership to process and production teams.
• Troubleshoot networks and communications protocols (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, DH+).
• Collaborate with IT and Operations to prioritize, plan, and execute projects.
• Develop project documentation and drive TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain equipment documentation and spare parts planning with Maintenance.
