Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated seeks a full-time Process Controls Engineer for our new Sparrows Point, MD distribution center. You will support and manage automation projects, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, and industrial networking, while aiding plant operations and TPM initiatives.

The role involves hands-on control-system development, technical documentation, and collaboration with maintenance to ensure reliability and safety across packaging and process equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industrial controls equipment, including PCs, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, field instrumentation, and industrial communication devices/protocols.
• Knowledge of process and/or packaging equipment.
• Experience writing accurate technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mission-critical automation infrastructure for McCormick's automated distribution center.
• Provide technical leadership and ownership of automation technologies (WES, MHE, AGV, robotic systems).
• Monitor equipment health and perform troubleshooting with limited supervision.
• Plan and execute capital projects and documentation (CAAP) with ROI focus.
• Develop and implement cost-saving and productivity-improving projects.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure spare parts inventory.
