Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials seeks a Lead Process Automation Engineer to drive expert-level automation initiatives across multiple facilities. You will own project execution from development to startup, guide vendors, and ensure sustained gains in throughput, yield, energy, and cost.

You will mentor teams, manage advanced control applications, and collaborate with Operations, Process Engineering, and Reliability to deliver measurable value. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of process automation and controls experience within chemical manufacturing and hazardous process facilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Honeywell Experion PKS, C300, Control Execution Environment, operator graphics, and Rockwell PLC systems.
  • Experience with Honeywell Profit Suite, Advanced Process Control, Real-Time Optimization, and sustained application performance.
  • Experience leading brownfield automation projects, control-system migrations, vendor execution, testing, commissioning, and startup.
  • Working knowledge of continuous and batch control, industrial networks, servers, virtualization, firewalls, backup, and recovery practices.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%, including possible international travel and increased travel during commissioning and startup.
  • U.S. export control compliance; candidate must be a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise for Honeywell Experion PKS, C300, Control Execution Environment, operator graphics, Rockwell PLC systems.
  • Lead process automation engineering for greenfield and brownfield projects from early development through startup.
  • Develop the Basis of Design, estimates, technical scopes, execution plans, control narratives, Functional Design Specifications, and related documents.
  • Perform control design and configuration directly or guide vendors and system integrators.
  • Lead control-system migrations, testing, commissioning, startup, stabilization, and closure of technical deficiencies.
  • Review field installation quality and support plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Lead optimization activities using Advanced Process Control and Real-Time Optimization methods.
  • Apply multivariable control, inferential measurements, and process economics to sustain optimization solutions.
  • Assess availability, usage, and value of advanced control; define updates or retirement when justified.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and complete feasibility and performance assessments.
  • Develop optimization roadmaps, vendor scopes, and technical recommendations; review vendor models.
  • Partner with operators and site control engineers during design, testing, deployment, and performance reviews.
  • Establish performance and value measures and report results to leadership.
  • Perform ongoing assessments of control-system condition, lifecycle, and security.
