Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Emerson, AR is seeking a Process Control Engineer II to lead and sustain automation in our Engineered Wood Products facility. You will collaborate with plant teams to set up and maintain control systems, acting as the site automation expert and driving safety and clear communication across the organization.

You will mentor engineers and technicians, spearhead cross-functional projects, and align automation initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

• BS degree in an engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years applying process control solutions in manufacturing.
• Advanced PLC/HMI knowledge with programming and configuring automation strategies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects with site and corporate teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and apply process control best practices across the plant.
• Partner with mill leadership to set mid- and long-term control network strategies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, variability reduction, and cost savings.
• Provide project leadership and training for control technology applications and PLC technicians.
• Collaborate with corporate process control resources and external suppliers.
• Mentor and develop other process control engineers and technicians.
