Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to design, support, and continuously improve the plant's automation and process control systems. You will act as the site expert in automation, electrical controls, and industrial networking, partnering with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, EH&S, and IT to boost equipment reliability and product quality.

The role leads automation projects end-to-end, provides advanced technical support, and mentors maintenance staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering and 5+ years' controls experience.
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in production environments.
Experience leading controls-related capital projects from design through startup.
Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation, electrical, instrumentation, and networking issues affecting production.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, and industrial control systems.
Maintain and improve plant process control systems, production networks, historian systems, and manufacturing data collection.
Develop automation solutions to improve safety, reliability, downtime, quality, and throughput.
Mentor maintenance technicians in PLC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and controls practices.
Lead automation portions of capital improvement projects from concept through startup.
