Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc is seeking a Process Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the plant's process control, automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems for safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

You will support production, maintenance, and engineering teams by ensuring control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and networks perform within design parameters, complying with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in process controls, instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, instrumentation, electrical systems, VFDs, and control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot process control systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and networks.
• Support Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, SCADA systems, HMI applications, and communication networks.
• Resolve process control issues affecting production, quality, safety, or reliability.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve control strategies.
• Specify and troubleshoot instrumentation: flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature, level, valves, analyzers.
• Assist maintenance and operations for efficient facility operation.
• Support electrical systems troubleshooting and modifications.
• Ensure instrumentation and electrical equipment operate within design parameters.
