Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking a Process Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the plant's process control, automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

You will support production, maintenance, and engineering teams, ensuring control systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related electrical networks perform in compliance with company policies. Shift: 3:30pm–11:30pm, with potential OT.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering technology, instrumentation, automation, or related field.
• 3+ years in process controls, instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Willing to work 2nd shift - 3:30pm-11:30pm, with potential OT.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot process control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
• Support Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, SCADA systems, HMI applications, and communication networks.
• Resolve process control issues that impact production, quality, safety, or reliability.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve control strategies and plant automation.
• Assist and troubleshoot maintenance and operations technicians for efficient operation of the facility.
• Support electrical systems troubleshooting and modifications.
• Ensure instrumentation and electrical equipment operate within design parameters.
