Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Circleville, Ohio, is seeking a Process Control Engineer to design, maintain, and upgrade process control, automation, and safety systems in our manufacturing facility. You will lead technical efforts across 24/5 and 24/7 operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, hands-on PLC programming with Allen-Bradley, and experience with GE Proficy iFix, Plant PAX, and HMI tools. Knowledge of P&ID interpretation is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience and certifications.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming, process instrumentation in an industrial environment, or willingness to learn.
Experience with GE Proficy iFix SCADA, Plant PAX, HMI, and historian software is a plus.
Experience reading and interpreting P&ID's and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Provide process control systems and instrumentation technical leadership to support the sites' 24/5 and 24/7 operations.
Identify and oversee continuous improvement opportunities with electrical and control systems, including process safety interlocks, communications with batch servers, and process automation software.
Design, manage, and troubleshoot process control and automation capital expansion projects. Satisfy projects' functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
Provide field supervision of employees and contractors, improving labor relations, and leading inter-disciplinary teams.
Develop and modify project and special process documentation, including technical writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and training documentation.
Develop and implement other information systems using process data, ie. MES, ERP interaction, and data historian systems.
