Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a 0.75 FTE Registered Nurse to join an interdisciplinary care team providing patient-centered oncology care. The role emphasizes nursing assessment, care planning, education for patients and families, and collaboration across disciplines.

Required: WA RN license or NLC-MSL, BLS, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; oncology experience preferred; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• WA RN license or NLC-MSL; WA residency within 60 days.
• BLS certification (AHA) and renewal every 2 years.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs; evaluates adaptation to health changes.
• Develops a care plan based on disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatments, and management of side effects.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team for continuity of care.
• Refers patients to social work, home health care, nutrition, and other resources.
• Implements and evaluates the care plan; integrates research into practice.
