Job summary

Montgomery County PA is seeking a highly experienced Supervisor of Probation to lead five to nine professional staff, train new officers, and implement Evidence Based Practices within departmental policy. This grant-funded position emphasizes alternatives to incarceration and strong public safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required.
• Proven management, coaching, and leadership abilities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle pressure while promoting public safety.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and judgement abilities.
• Proficiency with databases and information systems used in probation work.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel throughout Montgomery County and beyond as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop officers to ensure community supervision aligns with policy.
• Lead training, professional development, and discipline of staff.

• Conduct performance evaluations and develop improvement plans.
• Assign defendants to appropriate programming and monitor supervision contacts.
• Audit caseloads and reports to ensure court requirements are met.

• Coordinate with stakeholders and community organizations.
