Qualifications

• Combination of formal education, training, and work experience is acceptable.
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, corrections, or related field and six years of experience in probation, courts, or correction services, including four years as an adult probation officer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Specialized Dockets Section and act as first line of communication for after-hours emergencies.
• supervises probation officers and support staff providing supervision to court-ordered offenders across Mental Health Court, Recovery Is Empowering Court, Men’s Achievement Recovery Court, Veteran’s Treatment Court, and Kushinda Court.
• conduct case audits to ensure adherence to probation standards and comply with Ohio Supreme Court certification for specialized dockets.
• staff with probation officers to review recommendations and determine offender compliance with court orders; enforce progressive sanctions when needed.
• supervise staff performance, delegating and reviewing work while ensuring policies and standards are followed.
• monitor leave, conduct evaluations, and handle disciplinary actions; contribute to department policy development.
• analyze data and prepare reports to improve court operations and services; participate in hiring and training activities.
• may act on behalf of Probation Services Manager and obtain LEADS Practitioner Certification.
