Job summary

The City of Auburn is seeking a Probation Services Supervisor to guide probation operations and policy development as Auburn Municipal Court prepares for reopening. You will help Judges and the Court Administrator set guidelines, balance workloads, and ensure high-quality service for court users and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3 years of probation/court support experience, and strong writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or closely related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience related to probation services or court support services.
• A combination of relevant education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in the daily work of the Probation Services Division, assigning and monitoring caseloads, reviewing work for quality and timeliness, and assisting staff with complex or sensitive cases.
• Develop and implement efficient and effective divisional procedures, ensuring goals, priorities, performance expectations, and objectives are met, in coordination with the Court Administrator; analyzes operations and recommends changes.
• Maintain an active caseload and perform Probation Officer duties as necessary to balance workloads, provide coverage during absences, address staffing shortages, or manage high-priority cases.
• Oversee jail alternative programs including Electronic Home Monitoring and random drug testing including contracts, expenditures, and audits.
