Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking staff to supervise offenders and maintain safety within housing units. Responsibilities include offender counts, safety inspections, and reporting on violations, with extensive record-keeping and coordination with Probation and Parole Officers.

Role requires the ability to pass a background check, complete mandatory safety training, and possibly firearms/CPR refreshers; candidates should be prepared for shift work and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and hold a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background investigation.
• Safety training may be required including CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Supervises offenders in housing units and manages activities.
• Checks counts and inspects housing for safety violations; prepares reports.
• Interviews offenders and verifies background information; maintains records.
• Retrieves information from NCIC/MULES and related systems; responds to warrants.
• Photographs/IDs offenders; assists in job search activities and electronic monitoring.
• Maintains databases, logs, and equipment; answers emergency calls; supports officers.
• Monitors offender movement; intervenes in emergencies; administers medication monitoring.
• Provides after-hours assistance and orders supplies; work reviewed by supervisor.
• Must pass background investigation; safety training may be required including firearms/CPR.
