Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring a Probation & Parole Assistant. This role conducts offender assessments, collects data, and submits reports to courts and Parole Board. You will work to ensure public safety and support offenders in their rehabilitation.

You will counsel offenders, assist in vocational and educational planning, collaborate with public/private agencies, and help investigators with follow-up and reporting. This is a state-position with growth and stability.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in probation, parole, or related corrections roles.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate offender's home/work/social environments for court and Parole Board reports.
• Counsel offenders at their homes, workplaces, or confinement and attend court as needed.
• Assist in vocational/educational/social adjustment planning for offenders; cooperate with agencies and law enforcement.
• Prepare statistical reports and assist in investigations and special projects; participate in committees and trainings.
• Maintain safety compliance and re-qualify annually as required.
