Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring to support offender management and public safety. You will investigate home/work environments, counsel offenders, and cooperate with agencies to implement supervision plans.

The role includes data collection, report preparation, and participation in related training and safety programs. Qualified applicants will have 4+ years in corrections or related fields and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in probation, parole, corrections or related positions.
• Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework/custody, law enforcement, guidance/counseling, mental health, health, substance use, public/business administration, or related fields; AND possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offender's home, work, and social environments for circuit courts/Parole Board; collects and evaluates data; prepares reports.
• Contacts offenders in homes, workplaces or confinement and counsels them on personal/adjustment issues; attends court for assignments and reports.
• Assists in vocational/educational/social adjustment planning; cooperates with public/private agencies and law enforcement; investigates violations and takes action.
• Prepares statistical reports; administers breathalyzer/urinalysis testing; assists in investigations and research projects; serves on committees.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license; completes safety training including defensive tactics and re-qualification.
