Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections seeks staff to supervise offenders in housing units and support safety, security, and rehabilitation efforts across facilities. You will conduct counts, checks, interviews, and records management while coordinating with Probation/Parole Officers and other agency staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must possess a valid vehicle operator's license
• All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed

Responsibilities

• Supervises offenders in housing units/living quarters in general housekeeping/work/educational, recreational, religious, and treatment activities in Community Supervision Centers
• Checks/counts offenders; inspects housing units for safety/security violations; checks for health/safety hazards; prepares reports on offender violations/behaviors/mechanical deficiencies/security breaches of facility rules
• Interviews offenders to obtain information relating to their residential and family relationships/employment/educational records; contacts family members/employers/friends to verify offender's background; collects/verifies offender's legal case history and police reports; prepares reports; maintains records of investigative findings
• Retrieves information from NCIC, MULES, Missouri Department of Revenue, and DOC databases; responds to warrants; enters/cancels warrants on escaped offenders
• Photographs and issues identification cards to offenders; ensures parole orders; assists offenders with job search activities; investigates/monitors/changes schedule for offenders on electronic monitoring; escorts/transports offenders as needed
• Maintains databases/shift records/inventory/vehicle logs; troubleshoots equipment problems; answers/emergency logs; coordinates with staff to resolve issues; assists Probation and Parole Officers with court hearings/home visits
• Supervises movement/location of offenders; intervenes in emergencies; monitors/controls/records medication consumption; discusses issues with offenders; administers addiction assessment devices; collects DNA samples; supervises visits; searches for contraband
• Provides after-hours assistance to staff/public; orders/maintains supplies; works with general administrative direction; performance reviewed by supervisor; performs related duties as assigned
