Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a Probation & Parole Assistant to perform field visits, offender supervision, and intake coordination. You will gather data, counsel offenders, and participate in court-related reporting and records, contributing to public safety and successful offender management.

Qualified candidates will have multiple years of experience in corrections or social services with a valid driver’s license, plus potential for internal advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in corrections or related roles within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, or related fields with a valid driver's license.
• Earned college credit hours may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offender home/work/social environments for court and Parole Board reports.
• Contacts offenders in various settings and counsels on personal/adjustment issues; attends court.
• Assists in vocational and social adjustment planning; collaborates with agencies and law enforcement.
• Prepares statistical reports; observes testing; participates in investigations and committees.
• Possesses a valid vehicle operator’s license and meets safety training requirements.
