Job summary

The Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro, Oregon, is hiring a Probate Case Processing Clerk (Court Operations Specialist). You will open new probate cases, perform data entry for filings, docket orders, and dispositions, and manage case activity, notices, and correspondence.

You will assist judges, attorneys, and the public in person or by phone. You will also scan documents, process mail, and provide backup coverage as needed, with occasional overtime and a focus on confidentiality and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and four years of administrative experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience performing clerical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using multiple software programs to input and access information.
• Ability to provide customer service to diverse individuals under challenging circumstances.
• Strong writing and editing skills for accurate documents.
• Ability to identify and safeguard confidential information.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Open new probate-related cases and manage filings for estates, protective proceedings, identity records, and trusts.
• Perform data entry for daily filings, route documents, docket orders, and enter dispositions.
• Provide case management tasks such as monitoring reports, status checks, and correspondence.
• Communicate with judges, court staff, attorneys, agencies, and the public in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Scan documents, process incoming mail, and provide backup coverage for coworkers as needed.
• Adjust tasks to workload and organizational needs.
