Job summary

Modern IT is a La Verne-based firm seeking a hands-on technologist to benchmark client LAN/WAN against MSP standards, document gaps, and translate findings into business risk and value. You will lead the Scheduled Service Day deliverables and client reviews.

You will help push proactive improvements, maintain a technical library, and collaborate with the vCIO, Service Desk, and Projects to drive results.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on infrastructure experience (LAN/WAN, servers, endpoints, RMM and security tooling) in MSP or equivalent.
Ability to benchmark systems against standards and translate findings into client-facing risk and business value.
Strong documentation skills for SOPs, checklists, and technical library upkeep.
Professional client communication; onsite track requires leading client meetings and reliable transportation for visits.
Gate: hands-on benchmarking/work performed with written risks and client recommendations.

Responsibilities

Benchmark client LAN/WAN and configurations against MSP/industry standards.
Lead Scheduled Service Day meetings and deliver Client Deliverables with 90% proactive work.
Reduce reactive tickets by addressing misalignments and improving endpoint metrics.
Build and maintain client technical documentation library and SOPs.
Contribute to Standards Committee and keep benchmarking library updated.
Surface project opportunities from findings and support vCIO preflight and TBR processes.
